Backgammon aus kalifornischem Walnussholz
Besonders lebendig wirkt die wunderschöne Optik der kalifornischen Walnussmaser. Die Farbe des Kernholzes tendiert eher zu schokoladenbraun, während die europäische Variante eher rötlich-braun ist. Lebendige Maserungen in dunkelbraunem bis schwarzem Holz verleihen dem Furnier eine mystische Aura. Das Spielfeld ist eine Kombination aus kalifornischer Walnussmaser mit Kirsch- und Eichenspitzen.
Dieses Backgammon ist ein handgefertigtes Produkt der Intarsienkunst (auch „Marqueterie“ geschrieben). Dabei handelt es sich um die Kunst und das Handwerk, Furnierstücke auf eine Struktur aufzubringen, um dekorative Muster und Designs zu bilden.
