More than 100 senior business executives, industry representatives, academics, and members of the press attended the event, applauding the innovative and high-quality products from a wide range of companies. The evening's proceedings were opened by Anna Maria Papiri, Wellness Editor and Co-Founder of the Wellness Project at BOUSSIAS events. In her speech, she emphasized the growing significance of the global toy market, which is projected to reach $17.19 billion by 2028. Key trends such as the integration of technology in traditional toys, the rise of smart toys, and a focus on sustainability were highlighted as driving forces behind this growth.
Dr. Elias Vasileiou, President of the Evaluation Committee for the Toys Awards 2024, also shared his insights on the profound impact of toys on learning, expression, and intergenerational connections. His remarks underscored the essential role of play in developing social skills, empathy, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in children.
The non-competitive segment of the evening concluded with honorary awards to notable individuals like Eugenios Trivizas and Alexandros-Stamatios Antoniou for their contributions to children's literature and psychosocial development, respectively.
